Moss Side and Alexandra Park
Working at his previous practice, Director Colin Savage was involved in the design and delivery of major regeneration projects and community engagement within the Moss Side and Alexandra Park neighbourhood for over 20 years.
Significant projects include:
Broadfield Road and Plainsfield Close newbuild sites (110 units)
Footballers estate remodelling, refurbishment and new build (220 units)
Decent homes refurbishment of over 500 Edwardian terraced houses
Social enterprise employment hub within the community
Each phase incorporated Design Councils 'Building for Life 12 principles' to ‘place make’ and create new communities.
The regeneration culminated with the Greenheys development, Winner of the RICS regeneration scheme 2012. This brownfield site was transformed with clean, contemporary architecture and discreet parking. Two public squares were created which were pedestrian friendly and have created focal points for the community. The 67 unit scheme was the first new build for sale residential development in Moss Side for over 40 years. The residential units were designed to meet the local housing needs and took into account the varied ethnicity of the local population by providing large family houses together with starter homes for first time buyers.
