We are looking for a dynamic, collaborative and passionate Architect to join our Manchester studio.

Salary: £34,000 – £50,000 (subject to experience)

We are seeking a job running Architect to join our 100+ strong Manchester City Centre architectural practice. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent overall job running ability and possess good design and communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Knowledge and experience of industrial developments and / or residential recladding works will be beneficial based on the likely sectors you will be working in.

As part of your competency, your day-to-day role will require you to:

  • Manage all aspects of projects from inception to completion, including leading the overall coordination of the design and effectively communicating with clients, contractors and other members of the design team.
  • Be proficient in the use of Revit and demonstrate an understanding of BIM
  • Prepare drawings, specifications and other documents sufficient for all stages of projects, including feasibility studies, concept design, planning applications, tender documents, building regulations applications and construction standard information
  • Demonstrate a thorough working knowledge of the UK planning process, building regulations, and other relevant legislation.
  • Show a thorough understanding of the Designer’s and Principal Designer’s duty holder roles under the latest version of the CDM and Building Regulations.
  • Attend and positively contribute to design team meetings, and where necessary lead such meetings
  • Manage and delegate tasks to other team members, setting clearly defined briefs and checking the work of less experienced members of the team
  • Display technical knowledge and provide information and advice on technical issues, including responding to and resolving site queries
  • Attend site and review construction works against quality and statutory compliance

In addition, you will also be expected to:

  • Demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a busy workload.
  • A flexible attitude and approach, including the ability to work within deadlines as and when required.
  • Be responsible for familiarising yourself, and adhering to, all AEW company policies and procedures and report any breaches as required.
  • Together with your line manager, identify your own development needs, take into consideration current work activities and career goals.
  • Undertake structured and unstructured CPD activities and to ensure personal development and log the time accordingly.
