We continue to develop our relationship with BAE Systems in the design of a new 100,000ft² office within their expansive Samlesbury campus. Using our expert knowledge and experience gained from the successful delivery of a series of BCO award winning offices, our brief was to create a contemporary high quality workplace, which meets current best practice office design including addressing key areas of health & wellbeing, modern working styles, sustainability, reduced life cycle costs and lower maintenance requirements.

Planning has been granted for the third phase of an existing office complex at BAE Samlesbury. During the design process we engaged with stakeholders to gain valuable insight and lessons learned from previous buildings, to evolve the design to create the latest generation of workplace, whose crisp, contemporary and environmentally conscious office that complements the client’s other developments across the site. The rationalised layouts seek to maximise natural lighting and views out of the building, which will positively impact the way people work and productivity.

We have continued to collaborate with BAE Systems to pioneer the use of BIM on the project. Working to BIM Level 2, we have generated a federated, asset rich, 3D model, which promotes a range of benefits throughout the life of the development from improved communication and stakeholder engagement through the early design process, to coordinated designs with clash detection to reduce risk through tender and construction, to reduced operational costs with an integrated approach to building information management throughout the project, handover and its use in future FM systems.

We are extremely proud to be working with one of the North West’s largest employers.
