We have worked with Panattoni, the largest developer of logistics facilities in Europe, to design and deliver up to 417,290 sqft of industrial floorspace on a 9.92 hectare brownfield site at Wingates Industrial Estate, Bolton.

    The hybrid planning application comprised a full application for a 77,756 sqft pre-let unit (for Hermes) and a speculative 280,525 sqft unit (now let to UPS), plus an outline application for a residual plot capable of accommodating a further 50,000 sqft of industrial space, all with associated car parking, servicing and landscaping.

    The buildings complement and enhance the existing industrial estate’s offering, designed to appeal to a wide range of potential tenants, which in turn will increase economic and employment growth in the local area. Our designs are in line with Panattoni’s highly developed design principles, tailored to suit the specific location, including taking key considerations into account such as the retention of woodland buffers and have been carefully designed to avoid noise impacts on nearby residential areas.

    The scheme achieves a BREEAM ‘Very Good’ rating, incorporating passive design principles such as building orientation, form, layout / internal organisation, solar shading, daylighting and the size and position of apertures to minimise energy use and thereby reduce carbon emissions.

    The scheme is now known as Panattoni Park Bolton.
