Bringing together four of our key sectors; we have completed the master planning and architectural design for this mixed-use development opposite Dunmail Park Shopping Centre, Workington.

Submitted for planning in April 2020, the scheme comprises over 180,000ft² of new floor space split across retail, commercial office, car showroom, food & beverage outlet and a 125-bed hotel with a rooftop heliport, which sit alongside two existing industrial units to be retained on the site. We worked collaboratively wider consultant team in Revit to develop co-ordinated design proposals in a compressed timeframe, achieving the tight deadline for submission of a Reserved Matters planning application.

The proposed development has the potential to create over 550 new jobs, adding an estimated £25m per annum to the local economy. It will provide high-quality speculative office space, in response to sustained demand for Sellafield off-site working opportunities, alongside complementary hotel, retail and commercial uses. As well as futureproofing for a potential railway siding, the proposal includes substantial improvement works to the existing highways junction, which would benefit both the existing Dunmail Park site and the new development, enhancing pedestrian connectivity and safety.
