Steve Burne Charitable Award 2022

We believe our activities should have a positive effect on the environment, the community, our clients and business partners and our employees. That’s why at our End of Year Presentation each year we hand out the “The Steve Burne Charitable Award” to recognise an outstanding personal contribution to social value.
Former MD Steve Burne, who sadly died in 2018, was not only at the heart of our AEW family, but tirelessly completed fundraising and charitable activities for Ronald McDonald House Charities and the Steve Burne Charitable Trust. To honour Steve’s legacy, we named the award in his honour.
Each year we ask our team to nominate and vote for a colleague who they think should be recognised for giving back and helping others. This year the award was presented to Architect Charlotte Fuller for being an active and supportive member of the Social Value Committee. During the year Charlotte worked alongside Lifeshare to organise clothing donations and Jubilee packages; created a variety of window displays and helped make Christmas cards to raise funds for RMHC; helped organise AEW’s summer sports day and Christmas party; mentored part 1 and part 2 architectural assistants; took part in the Cumbrian Challenge to raise money for Walking With The Wounded; and in her spare time volunteered for Valley Heritage Building Preservation Trust – helping to revive heritage assets in the area of Rossendale.
Charlotte will now build on this work as the new Chair of the Social Value Committee for 2022-2023.
Well done Charlotte, a thoroughly deserved winner and a real inspiration to us all!
