Architectural Technicians / Technologists
Hybrid

We are seeking an Architectural Technician/Technologists to join our 90 strong Manchester city centre based architectural practice. The successful candidates will be given significant responsibility and will have the opportunity to work on a range of exciting projects across our sectors.
The ideal candidate will possess appropriate technical qualifications e.g. minimum HNC/HND or equivalent; they will also have at least 3 years post-qualification experience, across all RIBA plan of work stages.
Experience of working in relevant commercial / residential sectors is essential. The ideal candidate will also need to be fully proficient in the use of Autodesk Revit and be up to date with current building regulations, technical guidance, and codes of practice.

Reception Role
.

The purpose of this post is to provide first line reception and comprehensive administrative support services to AEW Architects, ensuring the smooth running of the office environment. It is a full-time office-based role.
Day to Day Responsibilities
- Looks after and provides general Admin support as required.
- Ensures that the morning set up of the office is completed daily.
- Responsible for ensuring that both the reception, kitchen, common areas and meeting rooms are clean and tidy and remain so throughout the day, including outdoor spaces. Waters the plants.
- Responsible for welcoming people to the office and manging the Sign In App / Robin
- Manages all calls to the office and deals with them in an appropriate manner.
- Manages all of office, janitorial and stationary supplies in line with our sustainability strategy, ensuring good value for money and making recommendations for alternatives.
- Ensures that diarised monthly Management and Senior Leadership Team meetings, and office briefings are catered for appropriately.
- Working alongside our HR Admin Assistant, ensures that all new starters have been assigned with the necessary key fobs, locker and Sign In App / Robin details.
- Responsible for dealing with all post for the practice, and manages any filing, scanning, and filling associated with this.
- Responsible for booking all travel and accommodation requirements for the business and documents on internal systems.
- Responsible for all PPE requirements for the business and ensures that all new starters, where appropriate, have their own personal PPE kit.
- Monitors office equipment, organises maintenance and makes recommendations for new purchases or lease options as required eg. Photocopier
- Liaises with IT, AV and mobile phone provider as required, resolving issues as they arise
- Responsible for pool car administration, ensuring MOTs and liaising with provider concerning returning these at lease end, including arranging any repairs as required.
- Liaises with the landlord and contractors as required and monitors necessary maintenance of the premises:
1. Liaises with contractors and keeps an up-to-date contact list and contract expiry record.
2. Reports to the Director of Facilities Management monthly on office issues.
3. Attends tenant's meetings and liaises with the Building Manager as required.
4. Oversees cleaning and general repairs as required.
- Undertakes appropriate training and carries out Fire Marshal / First Aid duties as required ensuring H&S Laws are adhered to eg. arranging for fire extinguishers to be serviced and first aid boxes are checked and replenished.
Provide wide-ranging administrative support
- Manages all required email boxes and any associated tasks.
- Provides admin support on a variety of tasks including typing, photocopying, binding and prepping, logging and so on.
- Supports the directors with scanning and filing warranties and tracking as needed.
- Orders promaps as and when required.
- Manages the sustainability recording and produces quarterly reports accordingly.
- Supports with facilities queries as and when required.
- Working alongside our HR Admin Assistant provides QA audit support.
General Responsibilities and Expectations
- Excellent communication and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a busy workload.
- A high attention to detail, team working skills and the ability to work within deadlines as and when required.
- A flexible attitude and approach
- Responsible for familiarising yourself, and adhering to, all AEW company policies and procedures and report any breaches as required.
