Celebrating a Hat-trick of New Architects

We’re celebrating not one, not two, but a hat-trick of new Architects in the practice!
Congratulations to Rebecca Chin, Jennifer Shields and Kyra Jennings who have all passed their RIBA Part III examinations and interviews and have become our newest Architects.
Becca originally joined us back in 2014 as a Part I Architectural Assistant, before rejoining to continue her professional studies. During this time, she has developed her expertise in the Office and Community & Culture sectors. This has included landmark projects Oldham Spindles and Arden Square, Crewe.
Working predominantly in the Residential sector, Jennifer has been with the practice for three years since joining AEW in 2021 as a Part II Architectural Assistant. Her notable work includes Moss Lane, Hale for McCarthy Stone and the transformation of Ronald McDonald House Alder Hey.
Kyra also completed both her Part I and Part II with the practice, originally joining in 2021 before returning in 2023. She has gained varied experience during this time but now focuses on the residential sector. This has included affordable passivhaus schemes at Sale West Phase 3 and Parkmount, Harpurhey.
All have balanced their project responsibilities with their studies and have been supported by a clear programme of coaching, mentoring, and continued learning in accordance with our Part I and II Pledges.
Alex Southall, Director and People Strategy Lead said of the news:
“We’re incredibly proud of Rebecca, Jennifer and Kyra for passing their exams and becoming our newest Architects. All are a great asset to AEW, both in their day-to-day roles and as key members of our EDI, Social Value and Sustainability forums. We look forward to continuing to support all three throughout their careers.”
Now all have concluded their studies, the trio will have more time to focus on their passions within the practice. Both Becca and Kyra are members of our EDI Committee and are helping embed equality, diversity and inclusion throughout our projects and operations. Kyra also joins Jennifer as an active member of our Social Value Committee, ensuring Social Value is a focus of our operations for the benefit of our clients and the communities in which we work.
