We are delighted to be the latest business to join the Manchester Climate Change Partnership.
Established in 2018, the Partnership unites organisations from across Manchester’s public, private, community, faith, health, culture, and academic sectors. Together, we share the common goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions and building resilience to climate change.
The Partnership works with the Manchester Climate Change Agency and other stakeholders to:
- Set Manchester’s climate change strategy and targets.
- Raise awareness of the need for urgent action.
- Champion and share best practices.
- Initiate and mobilise new climate action.
- Provide evidence-based reports on the city’s progress.
- Establish Manchester as a world-class leader in climate action.
Peter Bartley, Head of Sustainability, shared his thoughts on the Partnership:
“As a B Corp, we are always looking for opportunities to advocate for policy changes and drive positive environmental and social impact – both within our industry and beyond. The Partnership provides another avenue to achieve this, and we look forward to collaborating with all the Partners.”
As a Partner, we are committed to helping Manchester become zero carbon and climate resilient by 2038. This means working alongside local businesses, organisations, and communities to develop real-world solutions that lower emissions and strengthen climate resilience.
We are already embedding these principles into projects across the region, including:
- Parkmount, Harpurhey – This 24-home development for MSV is being delivered to Passivhaus Standards and forms part of Manchester City Council’s project 500 initiative.
- Cheadle Eco Business Park – Working with Stockport Council, we are developing proposals for a business park targeting BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ certification, and a part of the UK Net Zero Carbon Buildings Standard Pilot.
