Work Starts at Oldham Spindles

August 2022 saw a major milestone reached at our Oldham Spindles project, with main contractor Willmott Dixon commencing the regeneration of the 450,000 sqft shopping centre.
Proposals include the provision of a new market with events venue above, a new heritage archive designed to showcase artefacts from Oldham’s arts and heritage services and a new civic office and coworking space. While construction continues, Spindles will remain open.
“This is an exciting milestone in the project and you will soon start to see lots of changes taking place as we reshape the building for the future,”
– Oldham Council Leader Cllr Amanda Chadderton.
Planning permission was secured in June 2022 and it is hoped works will complete in 2024.
Oldham is one of many town centre regeneration projects we’ve undertaken for local authorities across the North West, with other comissions for Stockport Council at Stockroom and the Radcliffe Civic Hub for Bury Council.
