We’ve made Architecture Today’s Regenerative Architecture Index

Following a call for entries into the world’s first Regenerative Architecture Index (RAI) from Architecture Today and UK Architects Declare, we’re excited to announce AEW Architects has made the list!
The aim of the RAI is to benchmark practices on their regenerative policies, actions and operations instead of their profitability or size. As part of the entry process, we responded to questions on our projects and our practice which covered the following themes:
- Being a good ancestor
- Co-evolving with nature
- Creating a just space for people
We were delighted to see AEW listed in the “Ones to Watch” list for “Being a Good Ancestor”. The Judges identified our sustainability focused Knowledge Share sessions with our clients and our support of the “Design Engineer Construct” training initiative, with a school local to our Sale West scheme, as particular highlights of our approach.
Head of Sustainability, Peter Bartley said of our listing:
“We’re delighted to see our commitment to regenerative practices and sustainable design being recognised by Architecture Today and UK Architects Declare. It’s an honour to be listed alongside so many of our peers and reassuring to see that, as an industry, we’re making positive steps forward. We look forward to reviewing the results in full and continuing to improve our performance based on the analysis and best practice examples shared.”
